Oregon Institute of Technology Geomatics

OIT is THE Premier Institute of Higher Education for Real Surveyors on the West Coast. Surveyors were being educated at OIT well before that school down in the raisin belt was. The BLM has given OIT a vote of confidence in the form of a $750,000 grant to fund a permanent faculty position. If I’m not mistaken, the BLM gets more surveyors from OIT than from any other college or university. It’s a place where the students not only learn the theories behind the methods, they actually learn how to apply them to real situations. How many West Coast colleges offering a 4-year degree in surveying can honestly make that claim?
